Portugal Job Seeker Visa was introduced to address the country’s labour shortage and is issued by the Portuguese consulate abroad. This visa grants the applicant a Portuguese Residence Visa valid for 120 days, with the possibility of a 60-day extension.

What Is The Job Seeker Visa:

The Portugal Job Seeker Visa was introduced to help solve the country’s labour shortage. Applicants can apply for this visa at a Portuguese consulate abroad.

Once approved, the visa allows you to enter Portugal and search for a job. It grants a temporary residence visa valid for 120 days. If needed, this can be extended for an additional 60 days. During this period, you are allowed to legally look for full-time work in Portugal.

If you secure a job and sign a formal work contract, you must register the contract with both the Tax Authority and Social Security. After that, you can book an appointment to apply for a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP).

The initial TRP is valid for 2 years. After that, you can renew it for another 3 years, as long as you continue to meet the requirements.

For Whom?

The Portugal Job Seeker Visa is designed for non-EU foreigners who want to enter Portugal and search for a formal work contract.

To apply, you must meet certain financial and travel conditions. First, you need to prove that you have enough funds to support yourself while in Portugal. This includes a minimum deposit of €2,900 in a Portuguese bank account.

In addition, you must have a booked return flight ticket. This ensures that if you don’t secure a job contract within 120 days, you can return home as required by immigration rules.
